The past two feisianna I have been to have not helped me
meet my goals as far as dancing goes.
But as always, God had a bigger plan.
Last weekend my goal
was to get the last first I need for PC. My friend Claire beat me. I really enjoyed getting to know her over the weekend, and did my best
to rejoice with her, but I was still disappointed. This week, someone from the feis posted
on our school page saying what a blessing Claire and I had been to
her. We don’t like to know our results
till the end, but this girl came up and congratulated Claire on
moving up to PC. While not intending to be rude, we didn't really respond because we didn’t want her to say anything else about our results. When my mom made us aware of the fact that we came off the wrong way, we went back to her and apologized. After taking a four year break for college, including getting married and becoming a mom, this girl has started competing again. So far it's been very discouraging for her, but the fact that we sincerely cared really encouraged and blessed her.
This weekend is over, I still don't have the first I need, and I was only one point away from getting it. I was extremely discouraged when I found out and my mood took a deep dive, but God put some dear friends in our path today who allowed me to keep my focus on them and off the voices in my head.
I am so thankful
that God is continuing to show up. Not
in the ways I have always wanted or expected, but He’s been faithful to place the right people in my path at the right time….. that and a milkshake from Steak ‘N
Shake. J
